VENTILATION PLAN CHANGES

Your operator is required to inform your representative of any new ventilation plan or proposed changes to an existing plan at least five days before submitting it to MSHA. If an immediate revision is necessary, the operator must notify your representative of the proposed change and, upon request, provide a copy at the time the revision is submitted to MSHA for approval. In addition, the operator must post copies of the new plan and any proposed revisions on the mine bulletin board, where they must remain posted until they are approved, denied, or withdrawn.

Your representative may submit written comments on the plan or revision to the district manager within the required timeframe. Upon request, the district manager may provide copies of these comments to the operator. Once a plan or revision is approved, copies must be made available to your representative for inspection upon request. If you are directly affected, the operator must provide instruction on the approved plan or revision before it is implemented. Approved plans and revisions must be posted on the mine bulletin board within one working day of approval and remain posted for as long as they are in effect at the mine.
